Instruction
I teach you the methods that I use with my private clients through short video lessons. These lessons are intentionally brief so you can spend more time actually writing! Lessons are available on demand so you can work at your own pace. Once a month, we’ll do a live deep-dive lesson on a critical aspect of writing.
Private Community
Instead of navigating the jungle of social media, you’ll connect with me and your fellow participants in our private Novel Resolution community, hosted in Mighty Networks. Since all participants join at the same time and commit for the year, we become a unified group that supports each other.
Weekly Check-Ins
Set weekly goals every Monday and check in the following weekend for accountability. Check in at least 40 times during the year, and you’ll earn a $25 Bookshop gift certificate! (In US only; alternate prize for international writers.) Between May and October, a weekly winner receives free written feedback on five pages!
Personal Connection
You will NOT be a face in the crowd. During our group calls, we’ll address your questions about craft, the writing life, publishing, or any other book-ish topics on your mind. You can even volunteer to receive personal coaching in the hot seat! Sessions are recorded for those unable to attend live.

Written Feedback
My Story Foundation materials help you develop your book’s Core, Character, Concept, and Craft to ensure you write a cohesive story to engage readers. Each writer will receive written feedback on their Story Foundation Summary and three-page outline. These services would normally cost $500 alone.

While the Novel Resolution program is designed to help finish your novel by the end of the year, there is no guarantee that you will. YOU are the determining factor for getting your words on the page. I can meet you where you are, but YOU have to commit to doing the work.
Guarantee of Success
Publishing is a subjective business. No one can guarantee your book will secure an agent, be published, or sell thousands of copies. You can be sure, however, that you cannot accomplish any of these things if you don’t have a completed book, so this program helps you work towards that.
Ongoing Written Feedback

How is Novel Resolution different from other writing programs?
Real talk: you will not find another program like Novel Resolution. This program offers an incredible level of personalized support for a fraction of the cost of private book coaching. Novel Resolution is not a DIY course—you will not be left to fend for yourself. Novel Resolution is not a huge online writing community—you will not merely be another face in the crowd, but you will be known and encouraged. Novel Resolution is not a short-term workshop—it takes time to write a quality book, and you will have support for a year. If you participate in the ways this program intends, you will be pleased with what you accomplish and the connections you make.
Do I have to be on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter to access the community?
Nope! Educational content is hosted in Teachable, and the private community forum is hosted in Mighty Networks.
How much time will this program take?
You can watch ALL the educational content, attend (or watch the replay of) the monthly Q&A call, and participate in ALL the accountability check-ins in just 3-4 hours per month. Novel Resolution is purposely designed to give you solid information in a short time frame so that you can spend the majority of your time WRITING.
Each month will have two one-hour group Q&A calls, and the online lessons are presented in shorter videos (each no more than 15 minutes, many of them much shorter) that won’t add up to more than two hours each month.
You can join any of the online hour-long writing accountability sessions hosted on Zoom - usually 2-3 are scheduled each week.
Weekly check-ins take no more than two minutes each. You are welcome to spend as much time as you like to connect with other writers in the online community.
How much does Novel Resolution cost?
The entire year of Novel Resolution costs $1000 (single payment) or $350 x 3 monthly payments.
Why don’t you offer a monthly payment plan?
It has been my experience that when writers join a program on a month-to-month basis, it gives them an easier out and they don’t fully commit. By not offering a 12-month payment option, I am requiring each participant to have some skin in the game right when they join. The upfront monetary investment makes writers more likely to follow through.
I understand that each writer is working under their own budgetary constraints. I also encourage writers not to go into debt for their writing. If now is not the right time for you to join Novel Resolution for financial reasons, I encourage you to save this year and join us in 2026. In the meantime, I offer many free teaching resources, including instructional videos and expert interviews on my YouTube channel.
What if I change my mind after purchasing?
You can receive a full refund up to 14 days after your purchase.
Will Novel Resolution work for me if I am writing (insert your book type here)?
Novel Resolution is designed for novelists writing commercial fiction. It will work for those writing for adult, young adult, and middle grade audiences, across most genres. I do not coach literary fiction, erotica, or horror, so if you are writing these genres, then the program is probably not a good fit for you.
If you are writing a novel in verse, graphic novel, memoir, or biography, then the program might work for you - please email me and ask about your specific situation and I will tell you the pros and cons based on your specific project.
Novel Resolution is not a good fit for those writing board books, picture books, early readers, and early chapter books. (If you are writing picture books, I recommend you join the 12x12 Challenge before the February deadline). If you are writing short stories, essays, poetry, nonfiction that is not memoir or biography, or working on any sort of collection, Novel Resolution will not be a good fit for you.
Will Novel Resolution work for me if I have already written my first draft?
Yes. You will have access to lessons that are applicable to where you are in your novel-writing journey. In January, we will spend some time talking about goals and writing practices, and this discussion will include developing your personal plan for the year. Feel free to contact me to ask more questions about your specific circumstances. I want to make sure you join a program that will work for you.
What if my goal is to write more than one novel during the year? What if my goal is to write my novel over two years?
The program is structured to help writers plan, draft, and complete the first revision of their novel by the end of the calendar year. Having said that, each writer is different. Maybe your goal is to spend this year researching and planning your book. Maybe you want to write the first draft. Maybe you already have a written novel but want to revise it so you can pitch. Maybe you'll write a full series. Novel Resolution is designed to help you reach the goals you set for yourself. We will support you along the way!
When can I join?
Novel Resolution enrollment opens for a limited time every January. Registration to join the 2026 cohort is now closed. The program will next open for new registrations in January 2027.
Why can’t I join later in the year?
The limited enrollment window in January allows us to form a strong, familial cohort for the entire calendar year. However, if you are still looking for a group coaching experience, consider participating in one of my small-group workshops. These are offered throughout the year.
Can you guarantee I will finish writing my novel?
Nope. Only you can determine what you can finish or not (and sometimes life likes to make things interesting with circumstances beyond your control). Novel Resolution will provide you with resources, support, and accountability to give you a better chance of reaching your goals, but you need to take action to get it done.
Will I receive written feedback on my work?
Every writer will receive written feedback on their Story Foundation Summary and a 3-page outline. These are tools I use to help my private book coaching clients, and these services alone would cost $500.
Beyond the Story Foundation Summary and outline, I cannot guarantee you will receive written feedback on your work. I will be gifting feedback to the winners of the accountability check-in drawings, but no participant is guaranteed feedback on their writing. If you are looking for consistent, in-depth feedback, then consider private coaching.
How long do I have access to the materials?
You will have access to the educational content in Teachable and the private community on Mighty Networks through December 31 of the year you enroll.
May I preview the content?
Yes! When the program opens, you will be able to preview the course syllabus and a few of the lessons.
How many people will participate?
I cannot predict the future to answer this question precisely, but I can tell you 8 writers participated in 2023, 12 in 2024, and 13 in 2025. This program is not intended to be a huge community of writers who are just names in the crowd. I want writers to feel connected, and I personally know what each writer is working on and what their goals are for the year.
